The read
What's actually worth knowing.
- The active noise cancellation blocks significantly more background noise than Apple's previous models, which matters if you're in loud environments like planes or offices.
- They use a Digital Crown (like on Apple Watches) for control instead of buttons or touch panels, so you adjust volume and skip tracks by rotating it.
- You'll need an iPhone with a TrueDepth camera to set up the personalized spatial audio profile, which is a specific requirement not all users will have.
As of Sep 1, the Apple AirPods Max Wireless Over-Ear Headphones isn't at a good price yet at $499 — versus a $498.23 typical price and a $149.47 12-month low, based on Amazon's own price history.
