The read
What's actually worth knowing.
- The cable comes out of just one side of the headphones, which keeps things cleaner and less tangled compared to designs where the cable splits.
- They fold up for easier transport, which is useful if you're moving between locations for recording work.
- The earcups are contoured to fit snugly and isolate sound, so they work well in noisy environments, though this also means they seal pretty tight around your ears during long sessions.
As of Sep 1, the Audio-Technica ATH-M30x Professional Studio Monitor is a good price at $79 — versus a $78.97 typical price and a $48 12-month low, based on Amazon's own price history.
