The read
What's actually worth knowing.
- The earcups swivel 90 degrees, which lets you monitor with one ear while keeping the other open to your surroundings, a feature that matters if you're recording or doing live sound work.
- You get three different cables in the box (coiled and two straight options) plus a quarter-inch adapter, so you can connect to almost any audio interface or amplifier without hunting for extra cables.
- The circumaural design seals around your ears for isolation, but that also means they can feel tight during long sessions if your head is on the larger side.
As of Sep 1, the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Professional Studio Monitor is a good price at $174.90 — versus a $172.54 typical price and a $141.90 12-month low, based on Amazon's own price history.
