The read
What's actually worth knowing.
- The autofocus system can detect and track human faces and eyes, plus animals and vehicles, which is useful if you're filming people or pets.
- 4K video maxes out at 24 frames per second, which is lower than many competitors. Full HD goes up to 60 fps if you need smoother motion.
- You get 6.5 shots per second for continuous shooting, so it's decent for action but not built for fast-paced sports or wildlife.
As of Sep 1, the Canon EOS R100 Mirrorless Camera RF-S18-45mm is a good price at $549 — versus a $538.51 typical price and a $349 12-month low, based on Amazon's own price history.
Its price this year
A fair price — but not a real “sale.”
Sale check Amazon shows “19% off,” measured against a $679 “list price” it doesn't charge. Its usual price is $539 — real discount ≈ 0%.
The phantom Amazon has left this $679 “list price” untouched for 5 months — while the item actually sold for about $539. It's a fixed anchor, not a price it charges.
