The read
What's actually worth knowing.
- The camera has no battery inside, only a power cable connection, which means it won't overheat but also requires constant power to operate.
- It records in higher resolution than standard 1080P dash cams and has a wide aperture for better night vision, though you'll need to buy an SD card separately to actually store the footage.
- The WiFi connection is local only, meaning you control it through the app when you're near the camera, not remotely from anywhere.
As of Sep 1, the Dash Cam 1296P Front Dashcam is a good price at $24.98 — versus a $27.35 typical price and a $15.98 12-month low, based on Amazon's own price history.
