The read
What's actually worth knowing.
- The interface has automatic gain control and clipping prevention, which means you don't have to manually dial in levels and can focus on your performance instead of technical adjustments.
- It comes with a full suite of recording software including Pro Tools Artist, Ableton Live Lite, and various plugins like Auto-Tune Access and a Marshall amp simulator, so you're not buying the interface alone.
- The 2i2 can work without a computer connected, which is useful if you want to use it for live monitoring or performances, though most people will use it plugged into a computer.
As of Sep 1, the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB-C Audio Interface isn't at a good price yet at $249.99 — versus a $244.05 typical price and a $187.99 12-month low, based on Amazon's own price history.
