The verdict
Hobbs Bleached Heirloom Wide Batting Roll 100%
GOOD PRICE.
This is a wide roll of cotton quilt batting that's 96 inches wide and 30 yards long, made from bleached cotton with a thin polyester scrim woven through it for extra strength. It's designed for quilters who want natural cotton batting that won't stretch or distort while they're working, and it works well for both hand and machine quilting on light or dark fabrics.

The read
What's actually worth knowing.
- The polyester scrim stabilizer makes this batting stronger and more stable than plain cotton, which helps prevent puckering and shifting during quilting.
- It has a low loft of about 1/8 inch, so it creates a flatter quilt rather than a puffy one.
- You can space your quilting stitches up to 4 inches apart without the batting shifting between them.
As of Sep 1, the Hobbs Bleached Heirloom Wide Batting Roll 100% is a good price at $354.99 — versus a $354.98 typical price and a $344.99 12-month low, based on Amazon's own price history.
