The verdict
Poly-Fil Light-Weight Quilt Batting
GOOD PRICE.
This is a roll of polyester quilt batting that goes between fabric layers to add softness and body to quilts, comforters, and other sewn projects. It comes as one long roll (48 inches wide by 45 yards) so you can cut pieces for large quilts or smaller crafts from the same roll, and it works with both machine quilting and tied construction methods.

The read
What's actually worth knowing.
- The batting has a low-to-medium thickness that gives projects a fuller look without adding bulk, and it feeds smoothly through sewing machines without shifting or bunching.
- You should space your quilting stitches 2 to 4 inches apart to keep the layers properly joined together, which helps you plan your stitch lines before you start.
- The roll is thick and heavy at 11.5 pounds, so it takes up real storage space and is awkward to handle compared to smaller batting packages.
As of Sep 1, the Poly-Fil Light-Weight Quilt Batting is a good price at $126.17 — versus a $145.64 typical price and a $67.20 12-month low, based on Amazon's own price history.
