The read
What's actually worth knowing.
- It works best as a surround speaker when paired with a Sonos Arc or Beam soundbar, where it can handle the side and overhead channels of Dolby Atmos content.
- The speaker weighs nearly 10 pounds and takes up a decent amount of space on a shelf or table, so it's not portable despite being called a smart speaker.
- You can control it with your voice through Alexa or Sonos Voice Control, and it supports multiple streaming services over WiFi plus Bluetooth pairing from your phone.
As of Sep 1, the Sonos Era 300 is a good price at $379 — versus a $441.52 typical price and a $359 12-month low, based on Amazon's own price history.
