GOOD PRICE.
This is a powered studio monitor from Yamaha with an 8 inch woofer and 1 inch tweeter that's meant to sit on a desk or stand while you're recording, mixing, or producing music. It has built-in amplifiers so you just plug it in and connect it to your audio interface or mixer without needing a separate amp.

The read
What's actually worth knowing.
- The speaker has controls to adjust how much bass it puts out and a high frequency trim switch, which helps you dial in the sound to match your room instead of fighting with whatever acoustics you've got.
- It takes both XLR and TRS inputs, so it'll work with most standard studio gear without needing adapters.
- At 22 pounds and over 15 inches tall, this is a substantial piece of equipment that needs dedicated desk or stand space, not something you can tuck anywhere.
As of Sep 1, the YAMAHA HS8 Studio Monitor is a good price at $339.14 — versus a $371.47 typical price and a $181.45 12-month low, based on Amazon's own price history.
